Sonali Verma is a medical student at the University of Michigan Medical School with a strong interest in translational medicine and bench-to-bedside therapeutics to decrease invasive testing and procedures in vulnerable populations. She is actively involved in a number of research projects related to identifying metrics to predict aneurysm ruptures as well as identifying blood biomarkers to detect early graft rejection in heart transplant patients. Prior to starting medical school, she was a researcher at NASA studying how the blood-brain-barrier is affected by deep space radiation. A native of the Bay Area, California, she enjoys boxing and baking.
