Kurt Schultz, MD is a general surgery resident at Yale New Haven Hospital. Kurt is in the clinical research track of the Investigative Medicine Ph.D. program at Yale. Kurt and his mentor Dr. Cassius Iyad Ochoa Chaar are investigating the effect of hydration on the diagnosis and treatment of non-thrombotic iliac vein lesions. Kurt was fortunate to receive the 2023 AVF-JOBST Clinical Research Grant to support his and Dr. Chaar's HYDRATION study, which aims to establish a preoperative hydration protocol for patients with NIVL.
