I am a Vascular Specialty trainee (ST4 level) currently out of programme to undertake a PhD at Imperial College London. My research is on the topic of metabolic profiling of chronic venous disease and the epidemiology of varicose veins and venous ulceration. The aims are to better characterise the pathophysiology of chronic venous disease by investigating the metabonomics of this disease process (exploring potential diagnostic, prognostic and therapeutic applications) and to perform small population prevalence models for varicose veins and venous ulceration in England.
