Tomasz Urbanek, Professor

Tomasz Urbanek is vascular surgeon and vascular medicine specialist from Medical University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland. He is the past president of Polish Society of Phlebology as well as member of many international societies including American Venous Forum and European Venous Forum (current member of EVF Board as well as co-organizer of EVF How courses). Professor Urbanek is member of the European Board of Phlebology. He was the organizer and congress president of the International Union of Phlebology Chapter Meeting in Krakow in August 2019. He is co-organzier of the Expert Venous Management – Europe conferences as well as the organizer of International Symposiums on Venous Interventions in Krakow in Poland. As volunteer he is the member and chair of the AVF International Committee. His main field of interest is pathogenesis and treatment of chronic venous disease, venous thromboembolism prophylaxis and treatment as well as postthrombotic syndrome prevention and treatment.
