Dr. Eri Fukaya is a Clinical Professor in the Division of Vascular Surgery at the Stanford School of Medicine and a Vascular Medicine specialist with clinical and research interests in chronic venous disease. She started the Stanford Vascular and Vein Clinic and treats advanced venous disease patients at the Advanced Wound Care Center. She serves as the fellowship director for the Stanford Vascular Medicine Fellowship Program and maintains an active clinical and didactic teaching role for a multidisciplinary group of residents and fellows at Stanford.
Her research includes understanding the genetic underpinnings and pathophysiology of chronic venous disease, evaluating the epidemiology and diagnostic approaches to venous leg ulcers, working with societal groups to increase awareness of and access to vascular disease, and incorporating clinical interventions that utilize mobile health and information technology.
