Teresa Carman, MD, is a nationally recognized vascular medicine specialist, serving as Director of Vascular Medicine, Medical Director of the Anticoagulation Monitoring Service and Medical Director of the Center for Wound Care at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. In addition, she is an assistant professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Carman earned her medical degree from the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She then completed her residency in Internal Medicine before pursuing postdoctoral fellowships focused on vascular medicine and clinical thrombosis. She is also a registered certified physician in vascular interpretation.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Carman has authored more than 60 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on topics related to vascular disease interventions. As an avid educator, she is the program director for the vascular medicine fellowship.
She is a Director on the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine; also serving as the chair of the education committee and member of the fellowship oversight and accreditation committee. She has been involved administratively in the American Board of Vascular Medicine and currently serves as the Vice-chair of the APCA council.
